How to Stop Google Maps from Reverting to Walking Mode (Driving Fix)
Map gives me walking directions instead of driving
Google Maps some times defaults to Walking Mode when it determines the destination is close enough to walk (sometimes within a mile or two, or even 100 meters, according to user reports). Unfortunately, there is no single, reliable setting inside the Google Maps app itself to permanently disable this behavior.
However, there are a few workarounds and settings you can adjust that may help depending on your phone.
Please note this issue is with Google maps and not Delm8 app, so you will have to make changes in your map.
1. Change the Default Transportation Mode (via Google Assistant/System Settings)
This setting affects the preference Google uses across its services and may influence the default in Maps.
For Android Users:
Open your phone's System Settings app.
Search for Google Assistant or just Assistant.
Go to Assistant Settings (it might be under "Other Google apps" or similar).
Search or look for Transportation or Getting around
For iPhone/iOS Users:
You may need to have the Google Assistant app installed.
In the Google Assistant app, tap your Profile Picture or Initial in the top right.
Go to Settings.
Find Transportation.
Set your preferred mode to Car or Driving.
You could also delete and reinstall your Google maps.
Manual Workaround (The Most Reliable Method)
Because the app is designed to guess your mode, the most consistent way to force it to driving is to always tap "Directions" first, and then choose "Start" afterwards
